Fidelia Igwe

Knowledge Network Facilitator

Growing up in Northeast Washington, DC, Fidelia (better known as Fi) saw firsthand the gaps in access to quality college advising and how personalized support can transform a student’s academic journey. Her own path to college was uncertain, but with guidance, she found success and discovered her passion for helping others do the same. After earning a B.A. in African American Studies and Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, she completed her M.A. at Indiana University-Bloomington on a full scholarship. She has been in the college access world for nearly a decade, having worked at College Track-Watts in Los Angeles, CA, The Posse Foundation-Los Angeles, ECMC’s-The College Place Alexandria, and currently at DC Prep as the Associate Director of College and Career Access on the PrepNext team. At her core, Fi is a Black Studies Practitioner, College Access Champion, and passionate Facilitator. With years of experience advising diverse students, she founded Equitable Minds to provide holistic, student-centered college advising. Her focus is on empowering students to find the right academic, social, and cultural fit, ensuring they thrive in college and beyond. Her approach is rooted in empathy, dependability, and a genuine commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.
