Our Team
Mukta Ghorpadey is currently the National Director of College and Career Programs at Urban Alliance (UA) and has been working with young people for years, helping them succeed after high school. She started working with youth as a program coordinator for UA, then as its DC Alumni Director. She went on to be the Associate Director of Postsecondary Success at DC Prep, where she specialized in employment programs and strategic vision, working to transform the way DC charter schools view postsecondary success. Now, back at Urban Alliance, she develops and drives its alumni services and career pathways strategies across all its regions, serving over 4,000 postsecondary alums in Baltimore, Chicago, DC, and Detroit annually.
In 2021, Mukta was elected as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for Single Member District 1A07 in Columbia Heights and re-elected for a second term in 2023. In her role, Mukta is a community advocate, focusing on affordable housing, employment, education, and violence prevention. She organizes and executes monthly events for hundreds of Ward 1 residents, believing that the key to a healthy community is connection.
Mukta is also a current board member for the National Youth Employment Coalition, a membership organization of practitioners across the country aiming to improve employment outcomes for opportunity youth. Mukta holds a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University. She lives in DC with two cats of varying grumpiness levels, dabbles in stand-up comedy and storytelling, and tries to swim as much as possible.
